I thought that I'd celebrate bringing out my latest Jane and Caleb book in the 'Jane- Bow Street Consultant' series by offering the first book, 'Death of a Fop', free, Here
Meantime, here's the kindle version of 'Jane and the Hidden Hoard' here,
Also available in paperback.
Here's the development of the cover:
I used Erwarton Hall as my first port of call but I needed to make it one storey higher and add a more pretentious gatehouse. Then I needed to colour in Caleb, who was in black and white. I didn't do very much to Jane's!
Thanks, Sarah, looking forward to reading it. I have a Kindle app on my iPad though I prefer iBooks for paid books, because I can just use an iTunes card instead of revealing my card details online.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy it! I run with Kindle because it's the easiest and because the KDP lending means I get a few bob when people borrow books too, which is nice. And KDP doesn't like it being available elsewhere electronically. I quite take your point though, and I'm sorry about that. I'll probably be doing other offers now I've figured out how it works. I'm not a technophile...
ReplyDeleteHey, I've got a free book! No complaints there! :-) It's just that I haven't ever bought any Amazon books except with a gift voucher - and when my iPad broke and I had to download the ebooks from my backup, most of the Kindle books hadn't backed up, and none of those that had been paid for. And Amazon isn't acknowledging anything except your book when I go to the "manage" page. But I quite understand your side of it and I wish you lots of sales and lots of payments for borrowing.
DeleteCongrats on the new book, Sarah :) I love to see the process by which you make the covers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mimi! I love doing the covers with the old prints. Though there's a dearth of men, I think I'm going to have to start drawing some in imitation of the style!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sue! I download the ones I buy for Mum to my computer as well, which is paranoia but just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they ain't out to get you... they should be stored on 'my kindle library'. Odd. Might be worth contacting them; they should have your order history stored.
